Below is a list of several questions that I am often asked. If you have a question that isn’t answered below, please send me a note.
Do you take commissions?
Yes! See more information on my Custom Work page.
Are commissions limited to the examples on the Custom Work page?
Nope! I use photo references, so I can paint just about anything.
What is a commission?
Another term for custom work, where I make a piece specifically for you, usually from a photo that you provide.
I'm loving a piece from your Studio Work but it's not the right size/proportions for my space. Can you make something similar in the size/proportions that I need?
Yes! This is called "custom-light" and more information can be found on my Custom-Light page.
Where can I see work in person?
Come to my studio in NYC! I'd love to meet you; send me a note to set up a studio visit.
I also do several in-person art fairs throughout the year; my Events page is kept up to date for those, and I'd love to see you there!
Do you accept returns?
As a small business, I unfortunately am not able to accept returns on my artwork (unless there is a defect of some sort, of course). I'm happy to mock it up for you in your space using a bit of photoshop. Thank you for understanding!
How do I hire you for live drawing or painting at a private event?
I’d love to entertain at your next event! Visit my Live Drawing page for more info and email me with any questions.
Do you donate to charity events?
I do! I choose a select number of charities per year to donate to. Email me for more information.
I also choose my own causes to donate to, either as monetary or in-kind donations, often through special series or paintings that I share throughout the year. A few causes near and dear to my heart are The Leo Marchutz School of Drawing and Painting, the Get in Touch Foundation, and SEVA GRREAT, where we rescued two of our precious golden retrievers (including Millie!).
Are you returning to France to paint?
OUI OUI! Be sure to follow on Instagram this summer as I spend my time painting around Aix-en-Provence and by the Mediterranean sea again.
How can I find out about new work and stay up to date?
Sign up for my newsletter! This goes out about once a week and includes updates on new work, local events, and timely goings-on.
Do you sell prints?
Linocut prints, yes! These will be released every now and then, a budget-friendly option for collecting original art. Sign up for my newsletter to learn more about when these are released.
At this time, I do not make copies of my work.
Do you offer payment plans?
Not at this time.
Do you ship internationally?
For a fee to cover the shipping cost, yes!
Do you offer framing?
Yes! This varies piece to piece but each listing should have an option for framing.
Where can I purchase your art?
My website is a good place to start! If you'd like to see my work in person, send me a note (lucyclarespooner@gmail.com) to schedule a studio visit or take a look at my upcoming events to join at an art fair. I also have various other pop ups, mostly around NYC and VA, so make sure you're signed up for my newsletter and following on Instagram to stay up to date.
Do you offer watercolor lessons?
I do! For individuals and for groups. Click here for more information.
