Did you know that I spend my summers painting at an artist residency in the south of France? I love painting the landscape while there, the big swaths of trees and sea in front of me… but there are so many smaller details that don’t make their way into my plein air paintings, like these gorgeous thistles that were growing next to me while I painted outside. I decided to take a few photos and work from those when I returned to my NYC studio, and have been doing so the past few years. I’ve made a few new pieces for this spring’s release.

This is an original watercolor on paper with a deckled (torn) edge. The painting comes unframed (approx 6”x10”), and professional framing is available (bringing the overall size to approx 12”x16”). If you’d like to have it framed, choose that option below and I will mock up a few options for you—natural wood, metallic, colored lacquer, etc.
