SUMMER IN LE SUD: Niolon in the morning, July 3

$1,050.00

This was the second piece I made in this size this summer, big-for-me at 16”x20”. Painting big en plein air (outside, from life, tush on the rocks and painting as the scene changes in front of me) is a challenge and it’s taken me a while to be able to work larger… and I’m so glad I’ve gotten there! Niolon is a special place for me, a beach that I’ve returned to again and again to paint, probably over 50 paintings by now. You might say I’m rather comfortable with the motif, which makes working larger easier. Anyway! I love this view and I hope you will too.

This painting is part of Summer in le Sud (“luh sood”, a French word meaning “the south of France”), a series of paintings and watercolors made en plein air (outside, from life) as an artist-in-residence with the Leo Marchutz School.

Original oil painting on canvas. Painting size 16”x20”; overall size framed is approx 17”x21”. This painting comes framed in a natural oak floating frame and is ready to hang.

Free local delivery for addresses around NYC and near Charlottesville, Richmond, and Williamsburg, VA; this is automatically done at checkout. Otherwise, a $50 shipping and handling fee will be applied at checkout.

Merci for choosing to have a piece of my summertime on your walls!
