SUMMER IN LE SUD: Cassis from the hidden beach looking west, July 20

$1,050.00

I had often painted from this spot looking east, toward the town of Cassis, but on this particular day I happened to notice that there was a lovely shady spot that would make a perfect place for me to sit and make a painting looking toward the beach that I so often frequented. It was a Sunday and full of cheerful beach-goers, cicadas chirping and waves crashing and bodies slapping the water after jumping from the cliffs. Happiness in a painting!

This painting is part of Summer in le Sud (“luh sood”, a French word meaning “the south of France”), a series of paintings and watercolors made en plein air (outside, from life) as an artist-in-residence with the Leo Marchutz School.

Original oil painting on canvas. Painting size 14”x22”; overall size framed is approx 15”x23”. This is a diptych of two 11”x14” canvases framed together as one; they were painted together as if one canvas and are meant to stay together, not separated. This painting comes framed in a natural oak floating frame and is ready to hang.

Free local delivery for addresses around NYC and near Charlottesville, Richmond, and Williamsburg, VA; this is automatically done at checkout. Otherwise, a $50 shipping and handling fee will be applied at checkout.
