SUMMER IN LE SUD: Hidden beach looking toward town, Cassis, June 29
SUMMER IN LE SUD: Hidden beach looking toward town, Cassis, June 29
Cassis is a seaside town known for its calanques—little rocky coves—and a favorite destination for vacationers… and for me. I first went to Cassis at the age of 25 to paint along the water and have continued to dream of it ever since. There is a particular beach down a scramble and hidden away that makes for an especially lovely motif looking back toward the town; this is one watercolor of several paintings made looking at that view. I’d just had a picnic with dear friends and sat to paint the scene while the sun was going down and casting the most beautiful light as it went.
This painting is part of Summer in le Sud (“luh sood”, a French word meaning “the south of France”), a series of paintings and watercolors made en plein air (outside, from life) as an artist-in-residence with the Leo Marchutz School.
Original watercolor on paper with straight edges; unframed size 11”x14”.
If you’d like to have this framed, please select that option from the drop-down menu and check out. I’ll then email you with mock-ups of the painting in a few frame options that I recommend. Framed size approx 15x19 inches; please allow an additional three weeks for framing.
USPS First-Class shipping is free for the continental USA.
Merci for choosing to have a piece of my summertime on your walls!
