SUMMER IN LE SUD: Cap Canaille through the hidden beach's trees, Cassis, July 19
SUMMER IN LE SUD: Cap Canaille through the hidden beach's trees, Cassis, July 19
Cap Canaille—”Rascal Cape”—is a large rock jutting out into the Mediterranean and marks the edge of the inlet that makes up the water of Cassis. In the mornings it is a purple and throughout the day changes into an orange in a transformation that continually amazes me. I liked the way these branches framed the cape, so I stopped for a few moments to paint the view.
This painting is part of Summer in le Sud (“luh sood”, a French word meaning “the south of France”), a series of paintings and watercolors made en plein air (outside, from life) as an artist-in-residence with the Leo Marchutz School.
Original watercolor on paper with straight edges; unframed size 11”x14”.
If you’d like to have this framed, please select that option from the drop-down menu and check out. I’ll then email you with mock-ups of the painting in a few frame options that I recommend. Framed size approx 15x19 inches; please allow an additional three weeks for framing.
Free local delivery for addresses around NYC and near Charlottesville, Richmond, and Williamsburg, VA. For addresses outside of those areas, a $20 shipping fee applies and will be charged separately.
Merci for choosing to have a piece of my summertime on your walls!
