SUMMER IN LE SUD: Mt St Victoire from le Terrain des Peintres, July 11, no. 2
After painting a large piece of this mountain—Mt St Victoire, which Cezanne painted many, many times over the course of his life—I packed up to go… and then decided I needed to make just one more, a little piece, which is this one. Watercolor can sometimes feel more delicate than oil, and I feel that’s especially true in this little painting.
This painting is part of Summer in le Sud (“luh sood”, a French word meaning “the south of France”), a series of paintings and watercolors made en plein air (outside, from life) as an artist-in-residence with the Leo Marchutz School.
Original watercolor on paper. This painting comes professionally framed in a lovely deep green lacquer frame with UV-protective glass. The overall size when framed is approx 11”x15”.
Free local delivery for addresses around NYC and near Charlottesville, Richmond, and Williamsburg, VA; this is automatically done at checkout. Otherwise, a $20 shipping and handling fee will be applied at checkout.
Merci for choosing to have a piece of my summertime on your walls!
