SUMMER IN LE SUD: Le Pont du Gard, July 2, no. 1
On my second-to-last day of the residency, I headed to le Pont du Gard to paint, settling onto my normal spot in the shade with two painter friends. I made this watercolor to warm up into the motif, the 2000 year old bridge which is just a bit intimidating!!
This painting is part of Summer in le Sud (“luh sood”, a French word meaning “the south of France”), a series of paintings and watercolors made en plein air (outside, from life) as an artist-in-residence with the Leo Marchutz School.
Original watercolor on paper with straight edges. This painting comes professionally framed in a lovely light green lacquer frame (which actually perfectly matches the light greens in the painting; the frame color in the photo looks stronger than its actual soft and very pretty color) with UV-protective glass. The overall size when framed is approx 11”x15”.
Free local delivery for addresses around NYC and near Charlottesville, Richmond, and Williamsburg, VA; this is automatically done at checkout. Otherwise, a $20 shipping and handling fee will be applied at checkout.
Merci for choosing to have a piece of my summertime on your walls!
