SUMMER IN LE SUD: Market in la place Richêlme, Aix-en-Provence, July 20
One of my favorite parts of living in Aix in the summer is the daily fruit and vegetable market in the center of town and inevitably a five-minute walk from wherever I’m staying. Peaches, apricots, cantaloupes are in season, and I eat my weight in them each day, thanks fro the market and its lovely vendors. This “place” turns into lively outdoor seating for the three restaurants on its perimeter in the evening, so I often start and end my day here!
This painting is part of Summer in le Sud (“luh sood”, a French word meaning “the south of France”), a series of paintings and watercolors made en plein air (outside, from life) as an artist-in-residence with the Leo Marchutz School.
Original watercolor on paper. This painting comes professionally framed in a lovely red lacquer frame with UV-protective glass. The overall size when framed is approx 15”x19”.
Free local delivery for addresses around NYC and near Charlottesville, Richmond, and Williamsburg, VA. For addresses outside of those areas, a $20 shipping fee applies and will be charged separately.
Merci for choosing to have a piece of my summertime on your walls!
