Bonjour from Provence! This painting was made during an artist residency in the south of France this summer (2026) with the Leo Marchutz School of Painting and Drawing, my fourth summer painting in the landscape and by the Mediterranean. I painted this from life, "en plein air," as the French say; no photo references, simply looking at the subject while painting it. A challenging, exhilarating experience!

Some backstory on this painting: le Pont du Gard is a 1st century Roman aqueduct over the Gardon River, which kayakers now float under and which I like to paint a few times over the summer. The ancient-ness of the aqueduct is quite humbling and always a treat to paint.

This is an original oil painting on canvas, size 17” x 21”, and framed in a natural wood floating frame.

USPS First Class shipping is included for the continental United States.
