The Spring Drop 2023

Hello art lovers! I’ve been in a painting frenzy this year, making all kinds of things for my spring art fairs… and now they’ve gone live! I’ve decided to put everything from this release in one capsule, rather than dividing into categories (flowers, marine life, etc), so you can see all of it, all at once. I use the same palette for all of my paintings (as always), so they’re all tied together with a common thread—color!—and you may be surprised at a pretty pairing between two seemingly different paintings. And there are a few progress shots thrown in so you can feel like you’re in the studio with me while you’re perusing.

All paintings come unframed, unless otherwise noted, though I’m happy to have them framed professionally for you; let’s chat! If you’d like to frame the work yourself, please keep in mind that watercolors are wont to fade in sunlight; UV protected glass is a good idea or place the piece in a spot outside of direct light. I always float-mount my work so that the mat doesn’t cover it at all; a framer will know what this means.

Most have deckled (torn) edges which make for a pretty detail; some do not. This is mostly shown in the photos but if you’re wondering, send me a note to check (lucyclarespooner@gmail.com). They’re all on pure white watercolor paper (even if the photo makes the paper look more yellow or blue).
