Let’s all join hands and give a yell for dear old U-V-A! The Rotunda series—my most popular paintings—began on a trip back to Charlottesville a few years after graduating, when I made a painting of the Rotunda. The official UVA instagram (@uva) posted it in June 2018 (while I was still working a salaried position), leading to an onslaught of painting requests which ultimately made me realize that I really could turn my painting passion into a full-time job… and then UVA Today wrote a very kind article on me and my artistic practice (read it here). Woohoo!! Wahoo!! I’ve revisited this view time and again, whenever I’m a bit homesick for the beauty that is the Rotunda. A lovely way to bring a bit of Charlottesville into your home, wherever you may be!

These paintings are made-to-order *with preferential Wahoo pricing (already included in the listings)* and have a lead time of approx 6 weeks*. Please note: the Rotunda images shown are examples only, and I paint the piece the way I’d make it for myself or a friend; there are no progress shots or check-ins, as I find the piece works better with this process. As you can see, the first Rotunda I painted in 2018 has evolved over the years; the other examples are recent paintings and yours will be similar to that.

*Bonjour!!! I will again be heading to the south of France to paint this summer—do follow along on my instagram, @lucyclarespooner.artist, to see the behind-the-scenes of painting en plein air in the countryside of Provence and by the Mediterranean! This time painting abroad is incredibly nourishing for body, mind, soul, and, perhaps most of all, my creative practice.

- Custom work ordered before May 25 (reference photos received, all logistics sorted, etc) will be shipped by June 10.
- Custom work ordered after May 25 will be shipped upon my return in late August (exact shipping date depending on order date).
- Virtual “placeholders” can be sent in the interim at no cost.
