Bonjour from Provence! This painting was made during an artist residency in the south of France this summer (2026) with the Leo Marchutz School of Painting and Drawing, my fourth summer painting in the landscape and by the Mediterranean. I painted this from life, "en plein air," as the French say; no photo references, simply looking at the subject while painting it. A challenging, exhilarating experience! 

Some backstory on this painting: Fragonard is a lovely parfumerie with this pretty boutique on la place Richêlme, the square where I spend so much of my time in the summer. I had painted looking toward the restaurants and then turned around to paint the store afterward!

This is an original watercolor on paper, size 11" x 14" unframed.
