Bonjour from Provence! This painting was made during an artist residency in the south of France this summer (2026) with the Leo Marchutz School of Painting and Drawing, my fourth summer painting in the landscape and by the Mediterranean. I painted this from life, "en plein air," as the French say; no photo references, simply looking at the subject while painting it. A challenging, exhilarating experience! 

Some backstory on this painting: le Port Miou is a gorgeous port in Cassis which one sees from above through the pine trees. I sat up in the shade and painted the boats in the port below.

This is an original oil painting on canvas, size 17” x 21”, and framed in a natural wood floating frame.
